                                                            Masa Shivaratri The Shivaratri viratham is a very powerful viratham dedicated to the Supreme Lord Shiva. As mentioned in the Hindu Puranas this viratham is valued with high greatness. Unlike, Maha Shivratri that comes once in a year, Masa Shivaratri is observed every month. Procedure: You will have to wake up early in the morning, before dawn and meditate about the Supreme and infinitely auspicious Lord Shiva. They then take a bath and wear clean clothes. Wear a Rudraksha mala and apply ‘vibuthi’ which is considered to be an important part of the ritual. Devotees will be celebrating this auspicious day by fasting and offering special prayers to Lord Shiva by pouring milk and water (Abhisheka) on the Shivalingam and adorning it with beautiful flowers and Bilva leaves which are considered to be special. Kamika Ekadashi - காமிக ஏகாதசி

Kamika Ekadashi is celebrated during Krishna Paksha of Shravana month and this special day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Procedure: Have a bath in the early morning and then worship Lord Vishnu, on this day. Panchamrut Abhishek has to be done to Lord Vishnu. He is also worshipped with Tulsi leaves and is considered as the most auspicious deed. Fruits, milk and sesame seeds are offered to Lord Vishnu. People fast on this day, light lamps(deepams) and donate clothes to Brahmins. Perform Jagaran on Ekadashi night and spend your time in singing bhajans and read Holy Scriptures. Lord Muruga was born on the birth star of Karthigai Nakshatra. This viratham is dedicated to Him and fervently observed by South Indians and also he is referred as the God of Tamils. He is the son of Lord Shiva and he is known for his different names like Subramanya, Shanmuga, Skanda, Karthilkeya, Arumuga and Kumaraswamy. Viyāḻakkiḻamai Pradosham (வியாழக்கிழமை பிரதோஷ)

For all Pradosham days which fall on Thursday's (such as today- 06/07/2017) they are called Guru Vaara Pradosham or Viyāḻakkiḻamai Pradosham On this day: 1. Pray to ancestors and elders. As during such Thursdays, blessings from Pitru devathagal are received (forefathers who are in heaven will be blessing us).  2.  Various troubles and risks are removed by worshipping Lord Shiva during 4:45 pm to 6:00 pm. 3. Abhishekam and pooja has to be done for Lord Shiva 4. After pooja Bael (Vilvam) leaves are to be offered to the God.
